What your young adult is doing

Saturday: Meet and depart from St. Juan Diego in Cowiche at 4:00 AM. Drive to Bellevue (~2.5 hours via I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass) for ASCEND, a Catholic Eucharistic Revival conference at Meydenbauer Center. They'll hear talks from nationally known Catholic speakers (Chris Stefanick, Dr. Tim Gray, the Swaffords), attend Mass celebrated by Archbishop Paul Etienne, and join a Eucharistic missionary commissioning. After ASCEND (~7:30 PM), the group drives to Lynnwood (~25 min) and checks into the La Quinta Inn for the night. 11 PM curfew.

Sunday: Depart hotel at 6:15 AM for the 7:00 AM Traditional Latin Mass at North American Martyrs Parish in Edmonds (FSSP). After Mass, the group heads back to La Quinta together. From there it's a split — optional breakfast at Kona Kitchen in Lynnwood, or stay at the hotel to rest, pack, and chill — then everyone regroups at the hotel by 10:30 to check out and head out together. Next: Gas Works Park for Seattle skyline views, St. James Cathedral for prayer, then a short Pike Place Market stop for lunch (on attendees) and a walk. The afternoon is small-group time at Bellevue Square (~2:30–4:30 PM). Drive back to St. Juan Diego in Cowiche — drop-off by about 7:00 PM.

Where are they right now?

During the trip, the timeline page shows exactly where the group should be at any given moment — it updates live and scrolls to the current stop.

Safety & supervision

How we're taking care of your young adult.

  • Trip led by Gaby; chaperoned by Deacon Enrique Alejandro Galeana with his wife Patricia Galeana for the full trip. Deacon Enrique is the 24/7 emergency contact.
  • Guys and girls in separate hotel rooms — no exceptions
  • 11:00 PM curfew Saturday night (Mass is early Sunday morning)
  • Group travels together from Cowiche in pre-vetted private vehicles: Deacon Enrique Alejandro Galeana drives the lead vehicle and Patricia Galeana drives the second
  • The group travels together in vans — no one is left alone
  • All chaperones have phones and can be reached anytime
  • Emergency contact (Gaby) is available 24/7 during the trip
  • Total drive distance: ~320 miles round-trip with scheduled rest stops

Cost

Registration, hotel, gas, and three meals are covered by the group — Saturday lunch (Sizzle & Crunch), Saturday dinner (Chick-fil-A), and Sunday breakfast (Kona Kitchen, optional, covered for anyone who comes). Your young adult should bring money for Sunday lunch (each small group picks a spot near Pike Place — budget ~$15–25) and personal extras like snacks, merch, and offerings — suggest $40–60 total.

Consent / Waiver

A consent form is required for all attendees under 18. Please sign and return it to Gaby before departure.

The Retreat App

A companion website your young adult uses throughout the trip.

What it does

  • Live timeline — shows exactly where the group is at any moment
  • Private journal — retreat reflections and talk notes; only your young adult can read them
  • Group photo gallery — upload and share trip photos with the whole group
  • Guided rosary — pray along with a guided experience and keep private prayer intentions
  • Packing checklist — make sure they don't forget anything
  • Daily readings — the Mass readings for each day of the retreat

Privacy & security

Your young adult's journal entries and prayer intentions are private — only they can read them. Nobody else in the group can see what they've written.

Accounts use a username and password only — no email address is collected. Group photos are shared with the whole group; everything else (journal, intentions) stays private to each attendee.
